MUNICIPAL LAW
Representing municipalities takes into account a wide range of legal issues. The attorneys at Graffman & Smith have considerable experience at representing cities in the South Central Kansas area. This includes advising city officials on various issues, attending meetings of the governing body, drafting ordinances, and prosecuting crimes in the various municipal courts.
ESTATE PLANNING
Planning for one's death is usually not a pleasant thought for many people. However, the attorneys at Graffman & Smith are ready to aid clients in preparing the most beneficial estate plan for their needs. This can include drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and transfer on death deeds. Graffman & Smith will work with its clients to develop plans that will most effectively carry out the client's intentions at death.
Plans can be made to care for small children, equitably divide property among beneficiaries, protect assets for retirement, and allocate assets in the most beneficial way in terms of taxes. The possibilities are many for estate planning, and the attorneys at Graffman & Smith stand ready to work with each client's individual needs.
PROBATE
Probate cases come at a painful time for many families because a loved one has passed away. The attorneys at Graffman & Smith are available to assist families in these difficult times and can move an estate through the probate system from beginning to end whether a last will and testament exists or not. All of the related issues such as property transfer, estate distribution, and federal and state estate tax returns will also be completed.
If the decedent has created a trust, the attorneys at Graffman & Smith can assist families and trustees in carrying out the directives of the trust. Graffman & Smith can also handle cases where no probate is required, but property needs to be transferred or distributed.
Graffman & Smith can also draft trusts and advise on the ramifications of such.
REAL ESTATE

CRIMINAL LAW

If the charge is a misdemeanor, felony, or a probation violation, Graffman & Smith attorneys will undertake most criminal actions.

FIRM OVERVIEW
The lawyers of Graffman & Smith, LLC (GS) have a strong tradition of excellent representation of their clients' interests. Greg and Cody had the wonderful opportunity to practice with stalwarts of the Kingman legal community, Theodore C. Geisert, Curtis E. Watkins, and Robert S. Wunsch. Greg first joined the law firm Geisert, Wunsch & Watkins in 2003. He became a partner at that firm and it became known as Geisert, Wunsch, Watkins & Graffman in 2007. After Mr. Wunsch and Mr. Watkins retired in 2013, the firm became Geisert, Graffman & Smith, P.A., when Cody became a partner in 2016. In September, 2018, Greg and Cody embarked on their new venture to create a firm that was streamlined and geared to best meet their clients’ needs. They cherish the experiences they had with their mentors and now go forth to meet the challenges of a legal practice on their own.
The GS office is located in Kingman, Kansas, at 347 North Main Street, one block south of U.S. Highway 54 / 400. Greg and Cody regularly represent clients in the district courts of Kingman, Harper, Barber, Pratt, and Reno Counties. They have also appeared in the district courts of many other Kansas counties as well as the Kansas appellate courts.
Greg and Cody provide a wide range of legal services, both in civil and criminal law - always with professionalism and sincere advocacy of their clients' interests. Greg and Cody have diverse backgrounds and experiences, which make them uniquely qualified to provide a myriad of services in the general practice of law.
